Classroom 2.0 reflection!

So I recently joined classroom 2.0 as a way to build my PLN and network myself with others across the country and world! This will help my gather ideas to not only use within the classroom, but also to instill throughout my life to make me a more effective and well-rounded individual. Through this blog, classroom 2.0 and my twitter account I will be able to connect to other people in the education field that will help me make my material more interactive and engaging and thus make for a better experience for my students. If I am about to utilize these tools correctly, my students will grow more as life-long learners and I will be effective in helping prepare them for their future!

So I chose to explore "Work Hard, Play Harder, and Be Gentle with Yourself: Advice for the Beginning of Grad School and Beyond" by Claire Kamp Dush https://u.osu.edu/adventuresinhdfs/2016/12/07/advicefornewgradstudents/     I chose this because she talks a lot about what it takes to be successful in grad school (which is something I am considering pursuing ), but also how you have to know how to balance everything so you can get the most out of the experience and be successful in your future career. After reading this,  some of the key points I got out of it were to put yourself and your happiness first, figure out what is important to you as an outcome and work for it, know it is okay to get behind, but don't give up, and grad school performance isn't everything. Maker experience reflection on possible ideas

     I am extremely excited about the ideas my group has going! Since we have to do 2-3 projects we decided on health class as our field and we plan to focus on my plate/nutrients/vitamins, proper eating/disorders, and mental health.      If everything goes as planned for the myplate/vitamins and nutrients we plan to set up a layout of an app in which students would be presented with an empty lunch box and be able to build their own lunched based off of food choices given to them. They would attempt to use thier knowledge on proper nutrition and include all areas of healthy eating. They would drag their choices over on top of the lunch box and when they decide it was complete, they would click a 'done' button and they would either be greeted with a "Not quite! You are missing a ______ which is important because it has _______ which is needed" or "good job!" ran out of time to share the rest!
