Innovation Studio: Blog Reflection

I really liked the Innovation studio! It was amazing to see so many creative things going on/available in one space! Also the flow of the whole area was very open minded,creative, and calming. That big open space that was in process of being completed was actually one of my favorite parts of the whole studio because the open vibe it gave inventiveness and like anything could happen.
   I was particularly interested in the pottery wheel area because making ceramics on a wheel has always been something I found to be intriguing and I have wanted to do. The allowance of free expression it offers makes the art of it so complex and intriguing. I truly feel that if I was going to use any area in the studio it would be that one. In addition, seeing the girl working on her ceramic will such focus and intent inspired my inner creative self.
   These kind of facilities are amazing and have a lot to offer a community other than just straight tools. It brings people together in one space to create unique products that display their passion and individuality. That in itself has a great effect on the overall atmosphere of a community.

So I chose to explore "Work Hard, Play Harder, and Be Gentle with Yourself: Advice for the Beginning of Grad School and Beyond" by Claire Kamp Dush https://u.osu.edu/adventuresinhdfs/2016/12/07/advicefornewgradstudents/     I chose this because she talks a lot about what it takes to be successful in grad school (which is something I am considering pursuing ), but also how you have to know how to balance everything so you can get the most out of the experience and be successful in your future career. After reading this,  some of the key points I got out of it were to put yourself and your happiness first, figure out what is important to you as an outcome and work for it, know it is okay to get behind, but don't give up, and grad school performance isn't everything. Maker experience reflection on possible ideas

     I am extremely excited about the ideas my group has going! Since we have to do 2-3 projects we decided on health class as our field and we plan to focus on my plate/nutrients/vitamins, proper eating/disorders, and mental health.      If everything goes as planned for the myplate/vitamins and nutrients we plan to set up a layout of an app in which students would be presented with an empty lunch box and be able to build their own lunched based off of food choices given to them. They would attempt to use thier knowledge on proper nutrition and include all areas of healthy eating. They would drag their choices over on top of the lunch box and when they decide it was complete, they would click a 'done' button and they would either be greeted with a "Not quite! You are missing a ______ which is important because it has _______ which is needed" or "good job!" ran out of time to share the rest!
